Meet A Woman Who Moves Powerfully: Roxanne!💜

Updated: Sep 30, 2021

HEY THERE & WELCOME!

Meet Victims Advocate, Domestic Violence Survivor, Proud Mama of two and Thriver from Bassett, CA, Roxanne!

Roxanne is a supporter of the Women Move Powerfully Movement ✝ and recently shared what Women Moving Powerfully means to her:

Powering through life despite the trials and tribulations we face with a victor mentality instead of a victim mentality.

When asked, "How do you Move Powerfully?" Roxanne responded:

I thank GOD every morning HE wakes me up first and foremost, strive to do better today than yesterday by breaking chains, unlearning unhealthy behaviors and seeking GOD in good times and in bad times.

Roxanne was asked, "What have you overcome in your life, that when you think back, has helped you to NOW Move Powerfully?":

In 2014, I fled an abusive 10 year marriage with my two children and taught myself to navigate the different court systems, got my voice back which has ultimately led to advocating for others along the way. I strive everyday to be the best mother, daughter, friend, advocate I can be.

"What are your thoughts on the growing homeless population in and around Los Angeles?"

I believe it is a huge crisis, not only housing but mental illness, domestic violence and drug abuse is causing homelessness in our communities. Everyone deserves dignity and respect no matter the situation that caused their homelessness.

"How are you connected to THE MOVEMENT and what do you think about WMP?"

My great friend Trish shared her vision with me. WMP is her true calling and I’m proud to be a part of it and supporting her along her journey to help the homeless population.

Words of encouragement - Roxanne shared:

There are all those times we think we won’t survive and we do. Just remember that if GOD brings you to it, HE can bring you through it. Trials and tribulations toughen your skin and teach you to trust GOD. Always be kind (it costs nothing).

Final words - Roxanne shared:

My favorite quotes/scriptures/mantras are “be patient and tough; someday this pain will be useful to you”, “no weapon formed against me shall prosper”, “this too shall pass” and In the words of 2Pac, keep ya head up! God bless! 💜
